Leeds moved back to the Sky Bet Championship summit after beating Millwall 2-0.

Jake Cooper's own goal gave Leeds the advantage only three minutes into the game before Ao Tanaka wrapped up three points with a thumping finish in the 85th minute.

Victory means Leeds now sit two points clear of automatic promotion rivals Sheffield United and four points clear of third-placed Burnley after both teams drew their respective games on Tuesday night.

Moussa Sissoko scored the only goal as Watford earned a 1-0 win over Swansea.

The win keeps the Hornets’ promotion hopes alive, as they move four points away from the top six, but it was the Swans’ first defeat under their interim manager, Athlone native Alan Sheehan.

Hull moved further away from the relegation zone after beating fellow strugglers Oxford 2-1.

Although the U’s went in front through Michal Helik, Hull quickly took the lead with two goals in three minutes when Joe Gelhardt levelled and Jamie Cumming turned the ball into his own net.

The Tigers were reduced to 10 deep into stoppage time when Gustavo Puerta was sent off, but a win sees them move five points clear of the drop zone, while Oxford stay four points above.

Relegation-threatened Stoke were also handed a boost with a 1-0 win over Blackburn.

Ali Al-Hamadi’s sole goal means the Potters are now four points away from the bottom three and dinted Rovers’ chance of closing in on the top six as their winless streak extends to four matches.

Bottom-of-the-table Plymouth earned their first win in six games with a 2-1 victory over Portsmouth.

The Pilgrims took the lead through Mustapha Bundu and Ryan Hardie, but they were reduced to 10 in the 86th minute when Matthew Sorinola was shown a second yellow card.

Adil Aouchiche pulled one back for Portsmouth just three minutes later, but Plymouth held on to see out the win.
