Leeds extended their advantage at the top of the Sky Bet Championship as they cruised past Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road.

Daniel James' eight-minute double sent Daniel Farke’s side on their way before strikes from Manor Solomon and Joel Piroe gave them a five-point lead over Sheffield United, who have a game in hand.

Frank Lampard’s Coventry scored in stoppage-time to earn a fifth win in six matches with a 1-0 victory over QPR.

Jack Rudoni’s corner was turned in by Bobby Thomas to help them bounce back from their defeat to Leeds in their last league outing.

Portsmouth edged past Cardiff 2-1 to boost their survival chances.

Colby Bishop and Conor Shaughnessy put Pompey two goals up after 17 minutes at Fratton Park as the hosts made a flying start.

Towering centre-back Shaughnessy, who hails from Galway, opened his account for the campaign when heading home Josh Murphy's corner.

Republic of Ireland international Callum O’Dowda pulled a goal back for the visitors five minutes later when he found space at the back post to head Andy Rinomhota’s cross into the bottom-right corner, but they were unable to avoid a defeat which saw them leapfrogged by Pompey.

Derby and Oxford shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Pride Park.
