Evan Ferguson is not due to be available again for another few weeks according to Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler.

The Republic of Ireland striker has been sidelined by an ankle issue for the last three matches and speaking ahead of Brighton's FA Cup trip to face Norwich on Saturday, Hurzeler said that Ferguson would not be in contention to play again for the time being.

"Evan is doing OK, not perfectly, but he is doing OK. I think it will take some more weeks until he returns," the German told the club website.

"I hope it goes faster, but I cannot say clearly when he will be back, so we have to be patient."

Ferguson has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season for the Seagulls, scoring once against Wolves in the Premier League back in October.

Amid a struggle for game-time, he has been linked with a loan move away during this January transfer window, including to West Ham where his former Brighton manager Graham Potter has just taken charge.
