It was a game of two halves for the Republic of Ireland at Wembley as an encouraging showing turned into a nightmare once Liam Scales was sent off.
After a scoreless first half in which Ireland had two strong penalty claims, Scales picked up a second yellow for fouling Jude Bellingham in the box.
The floodgates opened once Harry Kane scored from the spot, with Anthony Gordon, Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis all adding their names to the scoresheet for the hosts.
Here's how we rated the Ireland players in their final outing in UEFA Nations League B2.
Caoimhín Kelleher - 6
Was his usual unflappable self in the first half but the Liverpool man wasn't really tested until England's second-half rampage. Made two good saves to prevent a sixth goal late on.
Dara O'Shea - 6
Showed good distribution down the right flank in the first half, most notably playing in Evan Ferguson before what appeared to be a blatant penalty claim. Played his part as Ireland's solid backline kept England at bay, before disaster struck early in the second half.
Nathan Collins - 6
The captain was utilised in an unfamiliar role of defensive midfielder, dropping back when England were on the charge. Made some crucial interventions throughout the first half. Couldn't rally the troops as Ireland leaked goals in the second.
Mark McGuinness - 6
Survived the early England onslaught on his debut. Grew in confidence as the first half wore on but much of that will have been wiped away during a chastening second half for the Boys in Green.

Liam Scales - 5
Was pivotal to Ireland's resolute showing in the first half, rousing the away fans with a reducer on Harry Kane. A yellow card for knocking the ball away from Gallagher would come back to haunt him, as a second booking and sending off would follow for conceding a penalty.
Callum O'Dowda - 5
Had trouble dealing with the threat of Noni Madueke on England's right flank. Drew a foul late in the first half, earning Ireland a free kick in a promising position. Withdrawn as the England goals rained in.
Festy Ebosele - 7
Fast becoming a fan favourite. Showed off his attacking abilities with a surging run down the right early on. Followed this up with an energetic skip through the English midfield which ultimately led to nothing. Got stuck in defensively during the first half but his head dropped with the rest of his team-mates in the second.
Josh Cullen - 5
Was guilty of some loose passing, giving the ball away on numerous occasions. A lack of communication from he and Collins contributed to England's second goal and he could have been closer to Bowen for the fourth.
Jayson Molumby - 5
Was his tenacious self and goaded Kane into foul late in the first half, which saw the England captain booked. Was the better of the Molumby-Cullen midfield pairing but not a night he will want to remember in the end.

Sammie Szmodics - 6
In the first half, he looked like a bustling presence that Ireland have perhaps missed since the days of Jon Walters. Became isolated in the second as Ireland had to reshape in the aftermath of the Scales sending off. Guilty of some loose passing that led to a couple of England chances early in the game.
Evan Ferguson - 5
A lonely figure for large chunks of the first half, as was to be expected. Should have been awarded a penalty after Marc Guehi blatantly tugged his jersey in the box. Played a poor pass in the build-up to the England penalty.
Subs
Ryan Manning - 6
Immediately got stuck in after coming on and was almost through on goal after linking up with Andrew Moran later on.
Troy Parrott - 5
Could have had little impact by the point he was brought on after 66 minutes, and perhaps he knew it.
Finn Azaz - 5
Showed flashes when Ireland did go forward late on but another who probably would have preferred to remain on the bench
Andrew Moran - 6
In fairness to the Stoke man, he was intent on making an impact, even if he came on with the score at 0-4. Immediately worked to win the ball back for Ireland and set up Manning for a half-chance late on.
