Manchester United have signed Uruguay international midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris St Germain.

The 23-year-old has joined until June 2029 with the option to extend for a further year, for what is understood to be an initial £42million fee.

Ugarte won the league and cup double with PSG last season, before playing every game for his country at Copa America and being named in the team of the tournament.

United have also signed 18-year-old Malian midfielder Sekou Kone, who will initially be supported by the club's academy as he settles in.

Republic of Ireland internationals Mikey Johnston, Festy Ebosele and Tom Cannon have all secured late transfer deadline day moves.

Winger Johnston has made a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion after impressing at the Hawthorns while on loan from Celtic last season.

The 25-year-old has a four-year contract with the promotion hopefuls, who remain unbeaten three games into the EFL Championship season.

Cannon, meanwhile, has made a loan switch from Leicester City to Championship side Stoke City, with full-back Ebosele making the move from Udinese to Watford for the remainder of the campaign.

Manchester United have bid farewell to Scott McTominay, after the academy graduate made the switch to Serie A side Napoli.

Brentford have accepted a £40million offer from Al-Ahli for Ivan Toney.

England forward Toney has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, but is now set for a medical ahead of completing a move to the Saudi Pro League outfit.

The 28-year-old has one year left on his Brentford deal and has yet to feature in a Bees matchday squad this season ahead of a potential move away from West London.

Al-Ahli have also reportedly agreed a deal with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, but it is uncertain if signing Toney will affect their move for the Nigeria forward.

Luke McNally (C) has left Burnley

Former St Patrick's Athletic centre-half Luke McNally has moved to Championship side Bristol City from Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old defender has penned a four-year deal at Ashton Gate.

"I am really excited and very grateful to be at a club like Bristol City," he said.

"I’m excited to get going and getting to see the training ground and meeting all the people has been great.

"I wanted to join for the project really, and the manager has been successful, and I can see he is really building something here."

McNally had stints on loan at Coventry City and Stoke City over the past two seasons, reaching the Championship play-off final in 2023 with the Sky Blues, who lost to Luton Town on penalties.

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on a season-long loan deal.

The Gunners' move for the 35-year-old Cherries captain is a straight switch with no obligation or option to buy.

Neto was Bournemouth's first-choice keeper for the past two seasons

Neto's departure means that Ireland goalkeeper Mark Travers is now unlikely to leave the South Coast club, following reports of interest from Crystal Palace and Luton Town.

Neto's arrival in north London paved the way for England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to complete a permanent move to Southampton.

Ramsdale (26) has signed a four-year contract and is moving for a fee reportedly worth up to £25m (€30m).

Ramsdale, 26, who played for Bournemouth earlier in his career, has signed a four-year contract at St Mary's and told the club website: "I’m absolutely delighted. The way the manager (Russell Martin) wants to play, the way he was when I spoke to him, he was just full of so much enthusiasm.

"I’d never met him before, but he made me feel about eight feet tall, which is just what you want.

"Coming back down to the south coast as well for me and my family, it would be an easier transition than most, so I feel like I can hit the ground running."

Bournemouth signed Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season-long loan deal on Thursday, with the Spain international having extended his contract at Stamford Bridge by a year to 2026.

Wolves have signed another England goalkeeper with Sam Johnstone joining from Crystal Palace on a four-year contract, with the 31-year-old costing a reported £10m (€12m) fee.

Everton have received no new offers for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, manager Sean Dyche has confirmed.

Calvert-Lewin, who joined Everton from Sheffield United in 2016, is in the final year of his contract and has so far failed to reach agreement with the Merseyside club over fresh terms.

Newcastle failed to match Everton's asking price for the 27-year-old after showing interest earlier this summer, but the Goodison hierarchy are braced for a possible late bid for the England centre-forward.

When asked if new offers had been received for Calvert-Lewin, Dyche said: "No, we're just carrying on as we always have done with Dom and all the other players, trying to stay open with our dialogue, that's it."

Everton are hoping to complete the loan signing of former Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala from Lyon, while Neal Maupay has finalised his move to Marseille.

Dyche said the club could not rule out further activity before Friday's 11pm transfer window deadline.

Striker Maupay has joined Marseille on loan for the 2024-25 season, with the French club having an obligation to buy the 28-year-old at the end of the campaign.

Maupay made 32 appearances for Everton, scoring one goal, and spent last season on loan at his former club Brentford.

James Ward-Prowse is set to leave West Ham on loan after just one season

James Ward-Prowse is undergoing a medical at Nottingham Forest ahead of a season-long loan deal from West Ham.

The move will free up space in the Hammers' squad to bring in long-time target Carlos Soler from Paris St-Germain on a permanent deal.

Rangers winger Scott Wright has signed a three-year deal at Sky Bet League One outfit Birmingham for an undisclosed fee.

He could be joined by Celtic midfielder Tomoki Iwata amid claims that Blues boss Chris Davies is going back to his former club for another signing from Scotland's top flight.

Aston Villa have signed Yeimar Mosquera from Orsomarso, and the Colombia Under-20 centre-back will immediately join Real Union on loan.

Celtic are expected to wrap up deals for Augsburg midfielder Arne Engels and Sheffield United defender Auston Trusty ahead of the 11pm deadline.

They have been linked with other midfield targets including Los Angeles FC’s Mateusz Bogusz, Dundee captain Luke McCowan, Switzerland Under-21 international Alvyn Sanches of Lausanne and Lyon’s Mahamadou Diawara.

Celtic and Ireland winger Mikey Johnston is set to finalise a permanent move to West Brom following a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.
