Shamrock Rovers say the club is "considering its position" after RTÉ Sport requested to televise their SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division clash with Sligo Rovers next month.
Earlier in the day, it was confirmed that two Premier Division games featuring Shamrock Rovers and the Derry City-Shelbourne Sports Direct FAI Cup quarter-final next month were in line for RTÉ television coverage.
The Hoops have aired their grievances with the national broadcaster over the failure to provide any TV coverage of eight matches in European qualifying this season.
They issued a short statement this afternoon in regards to the home fixture.
It read: "Shamrock Rovers FC was made aware of the intention of RTÉ to broadcast our next home league game on 13 September by the league communications office this morning.
"The club is considering its position on the matter."
The two other games are not at potential risk of a Shamrock Rovers boycott.
League leaders Derry City and second-placed Shelbourne meet in the FAI Cup the following day, their clash at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium kicking off at 5.45pm on 14 September.
RTÉ Sport are back in Derry the following week as the Candystripes host Stephen Bradley's side on Friday, 20 September (7.45pm).
If Shamrock Rovers did not permit RTÉ to televise their game with Sligo Rovers, they would risk punishment from the FAI under the participation agreement.
Over 40 games in the Men's and Women’s Premier Division and FAI Cup are covered each season between RTÉ Sport, Virgin Media and TG4, with RTÉ showing the majority of the matches.
The last game televised by RTÉ was in May.
The League of Ireland has also confirmed two new dates for previously postponed Premier Division games.
Galway United v Shamrock Rovers, originally scheduled for 3 June, will now be played on Monday, 16 September while Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians, originally fixed for 7 June, will now be played on Monday, 23 September.
The first three FAI Cup quarter-finals - Athlone Town v Drogheda United, UCD v Bohemians and Wexford v Treaty United - will all be played on Friday, 13 September at 7.45pm, meaning the postponement of six league fixtures that were scheduled to be played that night.
