Derry City have signed former Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old made the breakthrough as a youngster with the Reds and enjoyed a lengthy period with Derby County after a £4.5m transfer.
Wisdom can play at either right-back or centre-half, with City needing reinforcements in defence.
The Englishman won the double in Austria when playing for Red Bull Salzburg and captained his national side at under-21 level earlier in his career.
He spent last season with Warrington Town and will join City for the run-in, with both the league and FAI Cup on offer for the Candystripes.
Cameron McJannet departed the Ryan McBride Brandywell for Grimbsy Town earlier in the summer, while they have also conceded sloppy goals in recent weeks.
Assuming international clearance is received, Wisdom will be part of the Derry squad that travels to the RSC to face Waterford on Friday.
