Chelsea have agreed a £54m (€63m) deal to sign winger Pedro Neto from Wolves, after the club fended off interest from Tottenham to seal a surprise move for the Portugal international.

The 24-year-old, who arrived at Molineux from Braga in 2019, will move to Stamford Bridge for an initial £51.4m (€60) with a possible further £2.6m (€3m) in add-ons.

He has seen his last three seasons disrupted by injury and has been limited to just 51 Premier League appearances in that time, but was fit to play in three of his country's Euro 2024 fixtures this summer.

One of the 20 league games in which he featured for Wolves last season was the 4-2 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in February, when he assisted one of Matheus Cunha's three goals before being substituted.

That defeat drew a furious response from home supporters who turned on both then-manager Mauricio Pochettino and the players, though the team recovered to lose just once more in the league as they finished the season in sixth to qualify for the Conference League.

Neto will become the Chelsea's ninth signing since new head coach Enzo Maresca was appointed in June.

Barcelona have announced the signing of Spain midfielder Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.

Olmo, 26, started his career in the Barcelona academy before moving to Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb when he was 16 and then joining Leipzig during January 2020.

Barcelona said Olmo had signed a six-year contract, in a deal reportedly worth around €60m, with his buyout clause set at €500m.

Having impressed for Leipzig in the Bundesliga last season, Olmo helped Spain win Euro 2024, beating England in the final.

Speaking about his departure to the Leipzig website, Olmo said: "It was indescribable to play for this club and in front of these fans.

"It was a dream for me to move from Croatia to Leipzig four-and-a-half years ago.

"The city became my home in recent years, years that have had a huge impact on me as a footballer, but also as a person. I will be forever grateful for that."

Tottenham have reached an agreement with Bournemouth over the signing of forward Dominic Solanke.

Spurs have been on the hunt for attacking reinforcements all summer and after Solanke emerged as the club's preferred candidate, advanced talks began with the Cherries.

They have now accelerated and discussions over a fee were wrapped up on Friday afternoon with Tottenham set to spend an initial £55m (€64m) on securing the services of Solanke, with a further £10m (€11.7m) included in the deal as add-ons.

One-cap England forward Solanke missed Bournemouth’s friendly win over Rayo Vallecano last Sunday with a minor foot injury, which only served to heighten scrutiny over his future.

Postecoglou gave the green light for Spurs to pursue Solanke after the best season of the 26-year-old’s career.

Solanke scored 21 goals in all competitions for Bournemouth across the 2023-24 campaign – including 19 in the Premier League – but also caught the eye with his impressing pressing statistics and link-up play for Andoni Iraola’s side.
