If Bohemians are to get the immediate benefit of a new manager bounce, it won't have been better timed given a trip to Tallaght to face derby rivals Shamrock Rovers is their next assignment.
On Friday night, live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player, Alan Reynolds will take charge of Bohs for the first time and it's a daunting debut.
While reigning four-in-a-row champions Rovers have made a slow start to their title defence, they did pick up a first win of the campaign away at Galway United before the international break and that will have eased the pressure on Stephen Bradley's side.
Bohs, on the other hand, will hope Reynolds can kickstart a resurgence in style and speaking on this week's RTÉ Soccer Podcast, former Shamrock Rovers, Sligo Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic striker Eoin Doyle
"One of the great characters of the league and they've finally got their man," he said.
Eoin Doyle and Johnny McDonnell previewed the double round of LOI fixtures on the podcast. Watch above via YouTube or listen in below.
"They obviously went in after him last year and couldn't get him, and it shows how good he has been doing in the sense they came back for him about 18 months later to seal the deal again.
"He's probably started in there (Wednesday) morning and he'll definitely be getting right to it straight away.
"He'll be very practical in his set-up I'd imagine in how he's going to go up to Tallaght and try and get out of there with a result.
"It's going to be a great occasion - 10,000 fans coming to the game - I think Bohs sold their tickets in minutes and I'll be up there myself and I'm looking forward to it.
"But (Bohs) will definitely be looking for the bounce. You can see (Reynolds') enthusiasm and his comments about getting the gig.
"He's looking forward to working with the young lads like (James) Clarke and (James) McManus and he's obviously missing a few crucial players through injury with (Keith) Buckley and (Rob) Cornwall.
"But no better man to rally the troops and try to get a result."
However, Shamrock Rovers have enjoyed most of the bragging rights in the recent head-to-heads between the sides but former St Patrick's Athletic manager Johnny McDonnell feels Bohs could make it difficult if they can match the directness and intensity that they showed when they beat Derry City before the international break under caretaker coaching team Derek Pender and Trevor Croly.
"Will they go to Tallaght and play like that? How will Shamrock Rovers be under that sort of pressure if it's going to be relentless?" he said.
"As Eoin's said there, Alan's coming in as a new manager, he will definitely bring a bounce to the team.
"Rovers need to get the win. It could burst the bubble with all the news of Alan coming in as manager. Ten thousand at the game, Rovers fans behind them, can Bohs spoil the party?
"It's going to be difficult from what I've seen of Bohs this season. If Rovers can hit the ground running - they haven't played this season the way they can play - what a game it will be on Friday night.
"It will be difficult for Bohs, Rovers definitely need to get a win but if Bohs can go there and spoil the party, it will be a brilliant start to Alan's career at Dalymount."
