Irish youngster Finn Azaz rounded off a week to remember as he was on target as Middlesbrough ended Leicester four-game winning streak as the visitors won 2-1.
The Championship leaders still remain nine points clear at the summit despite the loss.
Azaz, who grabbed his first Boro goal against Preston midweek, opened the scoring with Sam Silvera also netting to put Boro in charge at half-time and it took the Foxes until the 85th minute to reply, Jamie Vardy stepping off the bench to grab a goal.
The result solidified the visitors in mid-table but pegged Leicester back for the first time since their last loss on 13 January.
Leeds are their nearest challengers in second, nipping ahead of Southampton as they banked three points in the early kick-off.
They ran out 2-0 winners at Plymouth, Willy Gnonto opening the scoring early on and Georginio Rutter finishing things off midway through the second half.
Ipswich sit fourth after an away success over Swansea, making it back-to-back wins. Nathan Broadhead and Conor Chaplin got the goals, either side of a Jerry Yates equaliser.
