Bohemians have signed Polish goalkeeper Kacper Chorazka on a 'multi-year contract', the club announced this afternoon.

The 24-year old Chorazka joins from Cypriot side ASIL Lysi, with Bohs manager Declan Devine saying he'd been on their radar for some time.

"He has played in Cyprus for a number of years but hasn't been afraid to leave a comfortable lifestyle behind him there, which tells me a lot about the guy," said Devine.

"He wants to come here to showcase his talent, and has a determination and desire to do really well.

"He is a talented boy who wants to push on, and is a player that I have spent a bit of time with recently and have had good conversations with in terms of where he wants to go in his career.

"He is very calm in possession of the ball, knows about the physicality of the League of Ireland, and is a very welcome addition to our squad."

The Pole will vie for the No. 1 jersey with American Luke Dennison, who signed from Longford Town in late 2022.

Bohs' first-choice goalkeeper in recent seasons, James Talbot, was given a leave of absence by the club in early January as he deals with mental health challenges.

While the club announced in their January statement that Talbot would be absent for the "forseeable future", Devine said this afternoon that Bohs would have plenty of competition for the goalkeeper slot, "even more competition when James Talbot comes back into contention."

Chorazka is Bohs' sixth signing of the off-season, a grouping which also includes Estonian trio Sten Reinkort, Martin Miller and Michael Lilander. Ex-player Rob Cornwall has returned from USL League side Northern Colorado Hailstorm, while winger Dayle Rooney arrived from Drogheda.
