Republic of Ireland defender Tara O'Hanlon has joined Women's Super League side Manchester City from Irish champions Peamount United.

The 18-year-old Dubliner, who played her part as Peamount won last season's SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division title, has signed a deal that will run until the summer of 2027.

O'Hanlon has won two Ireland senior caps to date, having made her debut against the United States in a friendly last April.

The deadline day move to Man City means she is joining a club currently sitting second in the WSL and O'Hanlon told the club website that she was ready to make the step up to the highest level.

"I'm really excited to be here at City and I’m buzzing to get started," she said.

"After winning the league with Peamount, I felt I was ready to try and make the step up to the WSL.

"I’m young, so hopefully I can come in and work hard over the next couple of months. I will do my best to try and earn a place in the team."

Earlier, Abbie Larkin became the latest Ireland international to sign for Crystal Palace as the versatile 18-year-old forward completed a move from Glasgow City.

Ireland duo Abbie Larkin and Izzy Atkinson will now be teaming up at club level too

The transfer sees Larkin follows in the wake of Girls in Green team-mate and fellow 2023 Women's World Cup squad member Izzy Atkinson's own recent switch to the south London side, while goalkeeper Hayley Nolan is also at the club.

Ringsend native, Larkin who won her first senior Irish cap aged 16 in February, started her career at Shelbourne before joining the newly re-established Shamrock Rovers for the 2023 SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division season.

Midway through last season's campaign, she made the move abroad after signing for 16-time Women's Scottish Premier League champions Glasgow City.

Her move to Crystal Palace will see her play in the English second-tier Women's Championship and Larkin told her new club's website that she was looking forward to continuing her development as she signed a deal that will run until 2026.

"I'm absolutely buzzing and I can't wait to get started with the girls," she said.

"The facilities are unbelievable and it's my dream to play in English football. I'm looking forward to settling into the club and getting closer to the girls, focusing on my football, enjoying it and hopefully developing more as a player."

Palace head coach Laura Kaminski said Larkin's potential had underlined the Eagles' interest in adding her to their forward options.

"We're delighted to welcome Abbie, a player of enormous talent and potential, to Crystal Palace," she said.

"We feel that she will be an excellent addition to our existing forward options, and we look forward to working with her to further her – and the team’s – exciting development."

On a busy day for Irish internationals on the WSL's deadline day, Megan Campbell was also on the move, joining second tier London City Lionesses after the 30-year-old's contract at top flight Everton expired.

The versatile Drogheda-born player, who has 47 Ireland caps but missed last year's World Cup due to injury, welcomed the move to pastures new.

"I'm quite a physical defender and I like to be on the ball," she said.

"I like to be in possession and play on a winning team. Defensively, I'm vocal, and hard in the tackle.

"Joining London City is a new challenge, with new surroundings and new team-mates, but I'm looking forward to what's ahead."
