Eileen Gleeson's Republic of Ireland charges will face Italy in a February friendly to help them finetune preparations for April's Euro 2025 qualifiers.
The Girls in Green take on the Italians, ranked 14th in the world, at Viola Park in Florence on Friday 23 February, 5.15pm kick-off. The venue is a state-of-the-art training hub for Serie A club Fiorentina.
It will be a good test for the Irish, who will be pitted against three of the top 16 nations in Europe when the qualifier draw is made in early March after they earned promotion to League A of the UEFA Nations League before Christmas.
The top two in the group qualify for the tournament in Switzerland, with the bottom pair guaranteed a place in the play-offs.
The Italy clash is the first part of a friendly double-header. On Tuesday 27 February, Ireland welcome Wales to Tallaght Stadium, 7.30pm kick-off. That match will be screened live on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player.
On the same night, Italy will take on England at Estadio Nuevo Mirador in Algeciras, Spain.
Gleeson was named the permanent boss in December, having guided the team through a perfect Nations League campaign. She earned the gig after six wins out of six, will look to guide Ireland to a second major tournament in a row after they made last summer's World Cup under Vera Pauw.
