Vinicius Junior scored a hat-trick in the first half as Real Madrid were crowned Spanish Super Cup champions after a 4-1 demolition of bitter rivals Barcelona in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Real dominated every aspect of the game and toyed with last year's champions who could not handle Vinicius and ended the contest with 10 men after defender Ronald Araujo was sent off for a second booking in the 71st minute after two fouls on the Brazilian.

Vinicius scored with two close-range efforts in the seventh and 10th minutes before Robert Lewandowski reduced the deficit in the 33rd with a strike on the rebound.

Vinicius extended Real's lead in the 39th minute from the penalty spot, after being fouled by Araujo inside the box.

The goal was a hammer blow for Barcelona who were dominated in the second half and Rodrygo struck Real's fourth from a rebound in the 64th minute.

AC Milan extended their winning streak to three Serie A victories after easing past Roma 3-1 at San Siro.

Yacine Adli's low strike sent Milan ahead before Olivier Giroud doubled their lead with a second-half header.

Leandro Paredes’ 69th-minuite penalty reduced the deficit and threatened a comeback from the visitors, but Theo Hernandez wrapped up victory with a powerful effort in the 84th minute.

M’Bala Nzola’s late penalty rescued a point for fourth-placed Fiorentina as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Udinese.

Sandi Lovric put the Serie A strugglers ahead before Lucas Beltran pulled one back and Florian Thauvin’s goal looked to have earned three points for Udinese, but Nzola’s spot-kick salvaged a point in the 87th minute.

Felipe Anderson’s goal proved the difference as Lazio beat Lecce 1-0, while Cagliari moved one point clear of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win against sixth-placed Bologna.

In Ligue 1, Kylian Mbappe scored his 19th league goal of the season as leaders Paris St Germain defeated 10-man Lens 2-0.

Bradley Barcola gave the reigning champions the lead before Jonathan Gradit was sent off for Lens and Mbappe struck in the 89th minute for PSG to go eight points clear at the top.

Hugo Magnetti and Jeremy Le Douaron were on target in the second half as third-placed Brest saw off Montpellier 2-0, while Lille beat bottom-of-the-table Lorient 3-0.

Vincent Sierro’s penalty earned a 1-0 win for Toulouse against 10-man Metz, while Le Havre returned to winning ways as they beat struggling Lyon 3-1, with the visitors finishing the game with nine men.

In the Bundesliga, Robin Hack's first-half double set Borussia Monchengladbach on their way to a 3-1 win against third-placed Stuttgart, while Niklas Stark cancelled out Patrick Osterhage’s opener as Werder Bremen stole a late point from a 1-1 draw at Bochum.
