Caoimhin Kelleher is ready to step into Alisson Becker's boots and help ensure Anfield remains a fortress for Liverpool when they take on Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

The Republic Of Ireland international deputises for the injured Brazilian against the Cottagers after making a winning return to the first team against LASK in the Europa League on Thursday.

"It’s been a long time [since I played in the Premier League], but I’m always training for that to try to be ready [so] that if something happens to Ali – and unfortunately something has – then I’m ready to go in and try to help the team get some more wins," the Corkman told the Liverpool website.

The Reds head into the game with Fulham looking to make it 11 straight wins in all competitions at Anfield since the start of the season.

"We are trying to create that fortress again, and trying to win every game here," Kelleher said. "Obviously it’s a really difficult place to come, we know that, and we’re trying to use the crowd as well.

"The crowd is always here with a great atmosphere, so we’re just trying to create that fortress and trying to get some more wins."

"In this league now every game is important. You can’t slip up. It’s going to be a tough test with Fulham coming here. They’ll be looking to cause an upset really.

"We need to be ready for that, recover well and then be ready to go again Sunday."

Kelleher managed a pleasing clean sheet on Thursday evening as two goals from Cody Gakpo and one apiece from Luis Diaz and Mo Salah took care of the Austrian minnows at Anfield.

"I thought we were excellent going forward," Kelleher said after a result that sealed a place in the Europa League last 16 for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

"We could have had a lot more goals, but we created a lot of chances. Everyone up there looked really sharp and looked in the mood."

"Goals win games. It’s massive for us. We scored four on Thursday and could have had more.

"It’s important. You have to have that threat, and fortunately we have a lot of options and all can score goals, as they’ve shown."

Kelleher has won 11 caps for his country and started in goals for what turned out to be Stephen Kenny's final match in charge against New Zealand in last month's friendly.

Meanwhile, the Merseyside club also announced that Conor Bradley has signed a new long-term contract.

The Northern Ireland international extends his deal having joined in September 2019 from Dungannon United. He made an appearance from the bench against LASK after a spell on the injured list.

Bradley made his senior debut against Norwich City in the Carabao Cup in September 2021 and has totalled six competitive appearances for the club while being capped 13 times by his country.

"Delighted to have signed a new contract with Liverpool FC," the 20-year-old Bradley posted on social media following the announcement.
