Eoin Wearen has been appointed as the new manager of Shelbourne, succeeding Noel King in the hotseat.
King had been at the helm since 2020, leading Shels to a Women's National League title in 2021, their first in five years. The following year the club secured the double, with his final game in charge the recent extra-time defeat to Athlone Town in the FAI Cup final.
Wearen is promoted from his role in charge of the Under-17 side.
Wearen spent five years at West Ham, playing youth and reserve football while representing Ireland at U17, U18 and U19 level.
In 2014 he joined Bohemians, while stints with Sligo Rovers, Limerick FC and Glenavon would follow.
After hanging up the boots he moved to the US to begin his coaching career, with his final year Stateside as head coach of the Chicago City Soccer Club's USLW side.
Wearen returned home to link in with the Shelbourne academy, guiding the U17 side to a league and cup double while overseeing a player pathway from elite underage to senior football.
Rory Kirk has been confirmed as assistant manager.
"I can’t wait to get going and begin preparations for next year," Wearen said.
"We already have a brilliant core group at the club, which contains some of the top senior players and leaders in the country and also an exciting crop of talented young players who are at the beginning of their careers as we look to help them fulfil their full potential.
"We will look to play an expansive, attacking brand of football, which will excite the supporters and compete on all fronts once again next season."
