Sligo Rovers have announced their first signing for next season with the confirmation that defender JR Wilson is to join the club from departing from Shelbourne.
The 24-year-old made 31 appearances for Shels this season to help Damien Duff's side into a fourth place finish in the league.
He has previously played for Bohemians and Bray Wanderers and says he cannot wait to get started at the Showgrounds under manager John Russell.
"The manager impressed me and convinced me sign here," he said. "He’s spoken to me a lot about the club and the season just gone. I know the plans he has and it’s exciting.
"He wants to build a new group and it was great to hear he wanted me to part of that.
"I’ve met people around the club today and it’s really positive. I can’t wait to move down and begin training."
