Republic of Ireland forward Abbie Larkin hopes to feature in the upcoming Nations League double-header against Albania despite still attempting to establish herself at Glasgow City since her move from Shamrock Rovers.
A clause in Larkin's contract allowed her to join the Scottish Women's Premier League champions on a free transfer last month, but the 18-year-old admitted she has yet to fully find her feet at Petershill Park.
"All the girls are lovely, I just think it needs more time, adjusting to new team-mates, new atmosphere, everything," the Dubliner said.
"I think it's more me. I swear there's a language barrier between me and them – "You're talking too fast", "No, I'm speaking normally!"
"I'm not getting much game-time at Glasgow at the minute, but I'm hoping that changes soon.
"Hopefully I come in here, work my socks off in training and show what I'm about and get a few minutes on the pitch against Albania."
Celtic defender Caitlin Hayes is now a rival at club level, but Larkin has hailed the influence of her new international team-mate, with Hayes opening the scoring in September's 4-0 rout of Hungary in just her second appearance for the Girls in Green.
"I think she proved that in the last games that she played, she did phenomenally and obviously got her first goal for Ireland in her first camp, which is incredible," Larkin enthused.
"Fair play to her, she's definitely going to come in here on a high as well."
Katie McCabe is another player heading into the matches against Albania in a rich vein of form.
McCabe struck both goals, including a screamer from long-range, as Arsenal saw off Bristol 2-1 in the Women's Super League on Sunday.
A suitably impressed Larkin said of her international captain's brace: "They are just Katie goals, aren't they? The worldies she pulls out, I'm just like 'wow', they're class.
"Hopefully she gets those types of goals in the games coming up. It gives us all a little motivation coming into camp, especially for Katie, she's coming in on a high.
"You never know what Albania is going to bring to the table so we're going to go out and do what we normally do – get the result we need."
