Republic of Ireland internationals Will Smallbone and Shane Duffy were both on target for Southampton and Norwich respectively in Saturday's Sky Bet Championship, while Irish defender Luke McNally scored for Stoke.
Substitute Ryan Fraser's dramatic late goal earned Southampton a 2-1 win at Hull. The home side looked up against it in the 20th minute when Ireland midfielder Smallbone opened the scoring for the visitors, who are finally clicking into gear under Russell Martin.
It came after Kyle Walker-Peters too easily won his duel with Jaden Philogene before cutting back to an umarked Smallbone, who guided the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.
Hull had been the better side until Smallbone scored and deservedly equalised five minutes later through Liam Delap.
However, the full-time result did not properly reflect the game as both sides had countless half-chances in a match which lurched from both penalty areas with almost careless abandon.
Hull head coach Liam Rosenior will be frustrated by the result - they have now won just once in seven - as late Southampton pressure allowed Fraser the chance to sweep home with virtually the last kick of the game.
Aaron Connolly, who missed Ireland's recent Euro 2024 qualifiers against Greece and Gibraltar, returned from injury to make a second-half substitute appearance for Hull.
Daniel Farke made a triumphant return to Carrow Road as his Leeds side hit back to record a dramatic 3-2 victory over his former club Norwich.
The Canaries were two goals to the good at the break, with Ireland centre-back Duffy heading home at the near post from a corner early on and Gabriel Sara firing in just before the interval.
But Duffy scored at the wrong end to bring Leeds back into it just after the hour mark and a late double from star man Crysencio Summerville turned the match on its head and earned the visitors all three points.
The defeat continued a poor run from the Canaries while it maintained the upward momentum of the visitors, who have now lost just once in 10 Championship games.
Leeds' win lifts them up to third but they remain 11 points behind leaders Leicester, who extended their lead at the top to five points over Ipswich - whose game at Rotherham was postponed on Friday night - with a 3-1 win at Swansea.
Matt Grimes put the Swans ahead but Leicester drew level on the stroke of half-time through Jannik Vestergaard before second-half efforts from Abdul Fatawu and Kelechi Iheanacho sealed a seventh successive league victory for Enzo Maresca's Foxes.
Preston dropped to fourth, a point behind Leeds, after their winless run stretched to five matches with a 1-1 draw at home to managerless Millwall, Zian Flemming's goal for the visitors cancelling out Mads Frokjaer's early opener.
Wayne Rooney's first game in charge at Birmingham ended in an agonising late defeat for the Blues as Morgan Rogers' 89th-minute strike snatched victory for Middlesbrough, who have now won their last five successive league games to climb to within two points of the top six.
Stoke secured a first home win since August as they battled for a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sunderland.
The Potters took an early lead when the returning Ryan Mmaee opened his Championship goal account following a summer switch from Ferencvaros.
But the hosts' celebrations were cut short when Jack Clarke levelled soon after with his eighth league goal of the season, climbing to the top of the division's scoring charts in the process.

The half-time instructions of Alex Neil - the former Black Cats boss - proved key as Stoke regained the lead with Meath native McNally's first goal since March 2022.
The ex-St Patrick's Athletic player's goal came from a header following Daniel Johnson's deep corner delivery, with the on-loan Burnley defender nodding home for his first Potters strike.
Rob Dickie's goal gave Bristol City a 1-0 win against Coventry and Huddersfield earned their first victory under Darren Moore with a 2-1 triumph against struggling QPR thanks to early goals from Kian Harratt and Jack Rudoni.
Moore's former side Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 1-0 by Watford thanks to Yaser Asprilla's 82nd-minute goal and Joe Rankin-Costello's strike was the difference as Blackburn beat Cardiff by the same scoreline, while West Brom's clash against Plymouth finished goalless.
