Drogheda United's appeal over a one-match travel ban following recent crowd trouble has been rejected.
Drogheda’s recent 3-1 derby defeat to Dundalk at Oriel Park was marred by disturbances in the stand, including a match official being struck by a pyrotechnic.
The FAI reacted by imposing a one-match ban on travelling support for Drogheda’s next away game, a trip to Tallaght Stadium on 20 October to take on champions Shamrock Rovers.
The club appealed the decision, but an independent appeal committee of the FAI has upheld the ban.
"The FAI acknowledges the great work carried out by League of Ireland clubs in relation to spectator misconduct and recognises that this behaviour is by a minority of individuals," a statement read.
"However, the FAI maintains a strict zero tolerance approach towards spectator misconduct and is committed to ensuring that League of Ireland matches remain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone."
Meanwhile Peamount United midfielder Jess Fitzgerald has topped the voting to claim the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division Player of the Month award for August / September.
The teenager has been in sensational form for the league leaders with an 80% pass completion rate across 11 League starts after forcing her way into the starting line-up.
Fitzgerald was selected ahead of Athlone Town forward Dana Scheriff and Wexford Youths midfielder Aoibheann Clancy to make it back-to-back successes for Peamount following Sadhbh Doyle's recognition in May.
United are closing in on the league crown and can take all but guarantee finishing first if they overcome Wexford this weekend.
