The FAI has banned Drogheda United supporters from attending the away trip to Shamrock Rovers later this month as a result of recent crowd trouble.

Last Friday's SSE Airtricity Premier Division 3-1 derby defeat to Dundalk saw a match official being struck by a pyrotechnic.

Football’s governing body has reacted by imposing a one-match ban on travelling support for their next away game, which is a trip to Tallaght Stadium on 20 October to take on champions Shamrock Rovers.

Drogheda have the right to appeal the decision.
