Sligo Rovers are into the semi-final of the Sports Direct FAI Cup after a stirring 1-0 defeat of Bohemians at Dalymount Park.

Sligo have only one league win to their name all season and are second bottom, 23 points behind fifth-placed Bohs.

However, they dug deep at a sodden Dalymount to sneak a hardfought success, the game's decisive moment coming 12 minutes from time when Emma Hansberry turned home Jodie Loughrey's initial effort.

Holders Shelbourne got past DLR Waves 2-1.

DLR Waves took the lead on seven minutes Freya Roche finished off a fluid counter-attack.

Meagan Smyth-Lynch equalised 20 minutes later, converting from Kerri Letmon's cross. DLR spurned a golden chance go 2-1 up just before half-time when Michelle Doonan blazed a penalty over the bar, and that miss was compounded in the 64th minute when Morgan Rees lashed home a brilliant winner.

Athlone Town got the better of Peamount United in the late kick-off, winning 3-2 on penalties after the game finished scoreless after extra-time.
