Republic of Ireland international Heather Payne has joined Everton after a four-year stint in the United States college team Florida State Seminoles.

The 23-year-old, who started two of Ireland's three World Cup group games earlier this summer, with a last-minute injury ruling her out of the Canada clash, joins the Toffees on a two-year deal.

The Roscommon native, who can operate a number of positions on the right flank, links up with fellow Irish international Courtney Brosnan at the club.

It is her second time to play in the English top-flight having featured for Bristol City before departing for the States in 2019.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Everton," Payne said to Evertontv.

"This club boasts an impressive history of nurturing talent. I've always harboured the desire to play in England, and I genuinely believe that it hosts one of the most competitive leagues globally."

Andrey Santos has been capped once by Brazil

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea on a season-long loan.

The Brazil Under-20s captain joins Steve Cooper's side after spending pre-season at Cobham under the guidance of new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The central midfield player, who scored eight times in Vasco da Gama's promotion campaign, has become Forest’s fifth summer signing.

Southampton have bolstered their squad with the loan signings of Ryan Fraser - pictured above - and Mason Holgate as they look to make an immediate return to the Premier League.

Both players have moved to St Mary's on season-long deals, with 29-year-old Scotland midfielder Fraser joining from Newcastle and 26-year-old defender Holgate from Everton.

The duo are the fifth and sixth signings of the summer for Russell Martin's side, who are fifth in the Championship after picking up seven points from their opening three games following relegation last season.
