Shamrock Rovers winger Neil Farrugia has been included in the Republic of Ireland's 22-man squad for a four-day training camp in Bristol next week ahead of the crucial Euro 2024 double-header in June.
Farrugia has been rewarded for his good form in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division, with Derry City goalkeeper Brian Maher and Bohemians stopper James Talbot also involved.
Everton striker Tom Cannon, who enjoyed a fine loan spell at Preston North End in the second half of the season, steps up from the U-21s, with defenders Sean McLoughlin [Hull City] and Danny McNamara [Millwall] getting an opportunity to catch Stephen Kenny's eye at the Robins' High Performance Centre.
Jeff Hendrick and Alan Browne - both out as they recover from injury - are expected to be available again soon. Chiedozie Ogbene will report for the camp to continue his assessment and rehabilitation from a hamstring injury, but Andrew Omobamidele, Callum Robinson and Seamus Coleman are all definitely out of the qualifiers.
Middlesbrough defender Darragh Lenihan and Peterborough United midfielder Jack Taylor will not be involved due to their clubs being in the Championship play-offs.
All Premier League players remain in action for their clubs while Mikey Johnston at Vitoria de Guimaraes, Jamie McGrath at Dundee United and Matt Doherty at Atletico Madrid also continue their domestic seasons.
Ireland will face the Greeks on Friday 16 June in Athens before hosting Gibraltar at the Aviva Stadium three days later.
"The six-week break between the end of the Championship and our qualifier in Greece is something we have to navigate and make sure our preparations are planned well," said Kenny.
"This training camp in Bristol for four days is essential before we travel to Turkey on 5 June for nine days ahead of our visit to Athens and we're looking forward to a good four days training and some sharp sessions."
