Even though he was delighted with the 1-0 win over Bohemians, Derry City manager Ruaidhrí Higgins felt his side should have made their first-half dominance pay when up against ten men for most of the half.
Grant Horton was shown a straight red card for a foul on Michael Duffy as he went through on goal on 14 minutes.
Three minutes later, former Bohemians player Ryan Graydon grabbed the only of the game. The result sees the Gypsies drop to third in the Premier Division table, with Derry now second on goal difference, two points adrift of Shamrock Rovers at the summit.
Speaking to reporters after the Dalymount Park clash, Higgins praised his team, saying that "in the first half we were absolutely brilliant".
He felt though that they should have had more on the scoreboard in the opening 45 minutes.
"We started the game really well, dominated the ball and played some good stuff. To be honest we made life a bit harder for ourselves. When we smelt blood in the first half, we should have went for the second and a third.
"Ultimately with the home team, the crowd get up and they get a bit of hope. Shane McEleney made a brilliant defensive header in injury time, but given our first-half performance and the domination we had in the first half we deserved to win the game."
On not making more of the numerical advantage, Higgins added: "It's a habit we need to get out of; we had them penned in 11 v 11, we should have smelt blood and gone for the jugular to make the second half more comfortable for ourselves.
"We had control, we've come to Dalymount Park and won 1-0 - that's back-to-back 1-0 wins away from home - we'll take it."

Bohs boss Declan Devine was again left frustrated with the decisions that he felt went against his side, this after the penalty decision did not go the way of the Gypsies during last week's defeat to Shamrock Rovers.
"We were disappointed with refereeing decisions in the game again," he told RTÉ soccer correspondent Tony O'Donoghue.
"Where do we start? I didn't have a go last week and then it comes back to bite you again this week. We can't get cards out quick enough; a booking after 15 seconds and then a sending off after.
"But full credit to the players, I thought they were the better team in the second half. We were down to ten men and were carrying a lot of niggles coming into the game. I thought our players were outstanding.
"For me it was a mistake but at the same time it's not last man; he's in and around the goal. We seem to be getting punished for everything at the minute whether it's right or wrong, and are getting no luck from the officials.
"Some of the decisions to book our players, who are borderline with four or five bookings, is ridiculous. We just want a level playing field and be treated the same as other teams."
