Galway United kept moved level with Peamount United at the top of the table, but they didn't have it all their own way in their 1-0 win over Treaty United at Eamonn Deacy Park.
Most of the big chances fell to Galway early on, but they found Treaty goalkeeper Annie Ulliac in good form as she repelled their early pressure.
She was beaten half an hour in as Eve Dossen rose highest to nod home a Lynsey McKey corner to give the hosts a one-goal lead at the interval.
Phil Trill’s side continued to dominate the second period, but Ulliac kept them out, while Aoife Thompson’s header also was ruled not to have crossed the line despite strong protests from the hosts.
In the end, Dossen’s goal was enough as Galway made it three wins in a row.
Shamrock Rovers are just a point off Peamount and Galway after crushing Cork City 5-0 following a second-half onslaught in Tallaght.
Cork started the brighter with Eva Mangan and Lauren Walsh having efforts at goal, but the sides could not be separated at the break.
Rovers carried a real threat after the turnaround though with Jaime Thompson opening the scoring three minutes after the break as her low free-kick snuck into the net.

Lia O’Leary grabbed a deserved goal in the 68th minute as she sprinted clear and side-footed home.
Jessica Hennessy got in on the scoring act 10 minutes from time as she flicked home Thompson’s corner and Abbie Larkin added a fourth in the 88th minute. There was still time for Lauren Kelly to head home late on to secure an emphatic win.
Sligo Rovers remain on the hunt for their first league point of the season, but they showed good character in their 1-0 loss to Bohemians at Dalymount Park.
Visiting goalkeeper Bonnie McKiernan was kept busy in the opening period, denying Kira Bates-Crosbie and Erika Burke, but she couldn’t keep out Lisa Murphy’s 24th-minute effort.
A familiar sight in today’s action in the Premier Division, the goal came via a header from a corner as Murphy powered home Rachel Doyle’s delivery.
Emma Doherty went closest to getting Sligo back on terms in the second half, but their wait for that first point goes on.
Ciara Rossiter and Michaela Lawrence were both on the scoresheet as Wexford Youths won on the road against DLR Waves.

Abbie Brophy went close a number of times for the Youths in the first half and had a goal ruled out for offside, but it was scoreless at the break with Kylie Murphy also going close for the visitors.
Murphy nearly broke the deadlock early in the second half, but they finally made the breakthrough in the 57th minute as Rossiter’s pace got her away and she finished past Eve Badana with a fine left-footed finish.
Wexford continued to push hard for the clincher, but they had to wait until the 83rd minute with Lawrence prodding home after a scramble following a corner for her second goal of the season.
Shelbourne left it late to claim a 1-0 win away to Athlone Town in Saturday’s evening game.
It was the home side who started the brighter while Shels had a good early effort from Megan Smyth-Lynch, but it was goalless at the break.
Murieann Devany came close for Athlone as they tried to find the opening goal, but in the end it was Shels who took all three points as Christie Gray pounced six minutes from time.
Alex Kavanagh’s corner was swung into the box and Gray didn’t even have to get off the ground as she guided the ball past Nylas Peterkin.
