There is a full round of SSE Airtricity League Premier Division fixtures spread across the May bank holiday with St Patrick's Athletic’s tie with Sligo Rovers kicking off the action at Richmond Park at 3pm.

The teams have faced off once already this season, with Sligo winning 2-1 at The Showgrounds in early March.

For Saints, Danny Rogers (thumb), Tom Grivosti (hamstring), and Harry Brockbank (calf) remain out as they continue their respective rehabs, while captain Joe Redmond (hamstring) is also missing.

"We've recovered well over the weekend and we've got our plans in place to face Sligo which is going to be another difficult one," said Saints manager Tim Clancy.

"We lost to them earlier in the season and we want to reverse that result, we'd like to get back to winning ways in front of our fans."

Three games kick off at 5pm including the clash at Dalymount Park as Bohemians entertain Cork City with both sides looking to bounce back from disappointing results on Friday night.

Bohs remain top of the table, however, their lead has now been cut to just three points with Derry and Shamrock Rovers closing in.

Ali Coote continues his recovery from a thigh injury and is close to returning, while Jordan Flores is available having served a suspension against UCD.

James Akintune remains a doubt as he recovers from a hamstring strain, while and Jay Benn returned from a calf injury to be part of the matchday squad on Friday but did not feature.

Drogheda take on Shelbourne at Weavers Park as the home side will be licking their wounds following their Louth derby defeat on Friday as they came out on the wrong side of a five-goal thriller.

The home side are set to be without the injured quartet of Ben Curtis, Evan Weir, Jarlath Jones and Darragh Noone, while captain Gary Deegan misses out through suspension.

Matty Smith found the net for Shels against Cork on Friday

Shels’ fine season continued on Friday night as Damien Duff’s side beat Cork City and moved into the top four, putting themselves in a position to aim for the European places.

The two sides played out a scoreless draw in the opening game of the season.

UCD and Dundalk will both look to build on their momentum from decent results on Friday night as the Students, who remain rooted to the foot of the table, secured a late point against the league leaders, while the Lilywhites beat rivals Drogheda.

It’s been a mixed start for Stephen O’Donnell’s side with just 16 points from 12 games, however, victory against UCD could see Dundalk end the day in fourth place in the table.

UCD celebrate their equaliser against Bohemians

UCD, on the other hand, are just looking to stay in touch following a very slow start to the campaign and they will be eyeing a win that could see them draw level on points with ninth-placed Cork City.

The final game of the day is perhaps the most anticipated as Derry City host Shamrock Rovers in the battle of second and third in the table at the Ryan McBride Brandywell, (live on RTE2, kick-off 7:15pm).

Both sides are showing good form to keep in touch at the top with Bohemians with the gap narrowing by a further two points on Friday night as Derry dominated St Pat’s, while Rovers were perhaps fortunate to take all three points against a Sligo side who really played with intent at Tallaght.

Ruaidhri Higgins: 'Our attitude will be the same on Monday night as it always is. We don't look to sit in or hold on, we go in trying to win and pick up three more points'

Derry manager Ruaidhri Higgins is likely to work off the same panel and insists that his players returning from injury will continue to be managed regardless of the opposition.

"Things are definitely getting better in terms of injuries but we've come this far so we will do what's right for the players," said Higgins.

"There's a long way between now and November so there's no point rushing. I understand it's an important game but they're all important games.

"Our attitude will be the same on Monday night as it always is. We don't look to sit in or hold on, we go in trying to win and pick up three more points."

For Rovers, Sean Gannon, Sean Kavanagh, Liam Burt and Dylan Watts remain out injured, however, Ronan Finn, Rory Gaffney and Simon Power are available for selection.

The Hoops have only won five of their 12 games so far this season, and yet they have only lost once, with six draws accounting for their lower-than-expected points tally at this stage of the season.

That one defeat came at the hands of tonight’s opponents, Derry, who enjoyed a 2-1 win at Tallaght Stadium in early March.

"We’re looking forward to it," said Rovers manager Stephen Bradley. "It’s not a great surface but it’s a big pitch with two good teams, so we’re looking forward to going there, performing and hopefully win the game.

"They’re usually tight games like the last game in Tallaght, we made a couple of mistakes and we got punished.

"Games between us and Derry are usually decided on the small details and the fine margins, so we’ve got to make sure that we’re focused and ready from the first minute, and hope that those small margins go our way.

"We all know that the pitch isn’t good but there’s no excuses. We’re lucky that at Roadstone we can train on astro turf before we play them. I think everyone is in agreement that it’s not a good surface, but it is what it is, and you have to go and play on it."
