Stephan El Shaarawy and Lorenzo Pellegrini scored in extra time to earn hosts Roma a spot in the Europa League semi-finals after defeating Dutch side Feyenoord 4-1 on Thursday for a 4-2 aggregate win.

El Shaarawy converted a cross from Tammy Abraham after 101 minutes and captain Pellegrini, who missed a penalty in last week's first leg, sealed the win seven minutes later when he slotted in a rebound from an Abraham shot.

Roma will meet Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals on 11 and 18 May after the German side knocked out Union Saint-Gilloise 5-2 on aggregate.

An early goal from Moussa Diaby and Mitchel Bakker's volley put the Germans in command at the break before Jeremie Frimpong added a third.

Substitute Casper Terho's deflected effort reduced the deficit, but Adam Hlozek wrapped things up with a late fourth.

Juventus dug out a 1-1 draw away at Sporting Lisbon to progress 2-1 on aggregrate.

Juve earlier learned the club's appeal against a 15-point deduction in Serie A for allegations of false accounting had been upheld following a hearing by the Sports Guarantee Panel at the Italian National Olympic Committee, with a new trial ordered to take place.

Adrien Rabiot fired Juve into a ninth-minute lead, but Sporting were soon level through a penalty from Marcus Edwards.

Massimiliano Allegri's men, though, held out to secure a first European semi-final in six years. They'll face Sevilla, conquerors of Manchester United, in the last four.

In the Europa Conference League, West Ham marched into the semi-finals with a 4-1 win over Gent at the London Stadium to complete a 5-2 aggregate win.

AZ Alkmaar celebrate their victory

David Moyes' side will next face Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar who had earlier beaten Anderlecht 4-1 on penalties after the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate after extra-time following a 2-0 home win for AZ.

A two-goal deficit from the first leg was wiped out by AZ inside 13 minutes after Evangelos Pavlidis slotted in an early penalty then swiftly added a second which was given following a VAR review.

With neither side able to find a winner before the end of extra-time, as Jens Odgaard saw his goal for the hosts ruled out for offside, it was down to a penalty shoot-out with AZ's Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan the hero, saving two spot-kicks.

Fiorentina held off a fightback by Lech Poznan to progress 6-4 on aggregate despite a 3-2 defeat in the second leg at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The Italians had looked in control of the tie after a 4-1 away victory, but Poznan hit back to level the tie after an early goal from Afonso Sousa was followed up by a penalty from Kristoffer Velde and Artur Sobiech made it 3-0 on the night with 20 minutes left.

Fiorentina, though, got themselves back in front in the tie through Riccardo Sottil before Gaetano Castrovilli made sure of the result with another goal in stoppage time.
