Republic of Ireland underage international Ed McJannet has completed a move from Luton Town to Serie A side Lecce.

The 19-year-old midfielder will move to the Italian club for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

McJannet has represented Ireland at U-17s, U-18s and U-19s, who he's captained on a number of occasions.

Sassuolo were also very keen to bring in the midfielder, who has yet to make a first-team start for the Hatters. He was an unused substitute in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last season.

McJannet is the latest young Irish talent to make the move to Italy.

Ex-St Pat's defender James Abankwah is at Udinese, along with his compatriot Festy Ebosele. UCD graduate Liam Kerrigan is on the books with Serie B side Como, while former Shamrock Rovers man Kevin Zefi is developing at to Inter Milan.

Corkman Cathal Heffernan is currently making his mark in AC Milan's academy ranks.
