Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Danilo from Palmeiras.

Danilo has signed a six-and-a-half-year contract at the City Ground and becomes Forest's 24th new arrival since the club won promotion back to the Premier League last year.

The 21-year-old is the second player to join Forest from Palmeiras in recent weeks after Gustavo Scarpa completed a move to Steve Cooper's side.

Forest are understood to have beaten off competition from a number of clubs to sign Danilo and he is relishing the opportunity to play in England after talking to Scarpa regarding the transfer.

"I'm really happy to be fulfilling my dream of playing in the Premier League and playing for Nottingham Forest," said Danilo.

"I learnt a bit about the history of the club and saw they had won two European Cups. I spoke to Gustavo Scarpa as well, and he told me that Nottingham is a great city and Forest have a quality squad with really good staff."

Danilo is joining a Forest side on a three-match unbeaten run in the league which has lifted the club out of the relegation zone and up to 13th in the table.

Wolves have agreed the signing of attacking midfielder Pablo Sarabia from Paris St Germain.

The Spain international is set to join on a two-and-a-half-year deal for a fee of €5m. The deal is subject to Sarabia passing a medical on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old has made 14 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG so far this season, all but three off the bench, and also featured in three Champions League games.

He joined PSG from Sevilla in 2019 and was part of Spain's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui had been coy about any new signings at his press conference earlier on Monday, refusing to discuss any incoming transfers ahead of Tuesday's FA Cup replay with Liverpool.

Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes is also a target, with Wolves having already signed Matheus Cunha on an initial loan from Atletico Madrid.

"We will see, it's true we have interest in some players, but when they are here and our players we can talk about them, not before," said Lopetegui.

"I want to put the focus on our players. We don't want to waste energy on other things. We will talk only about our players."

It remains to be seen how the transfer activity will impact on Republic of Ireland U-21 midfielder Joe Hodge, who has broken into the first team with some regularity in the last few weeks.

Hodge missed a penalty in the Carabao Cup quarter-final shootout against Nottingham Forest last week but has been earning plenty of praise from Lopetegui.

"He's going to grow and improve from this, for sure," the manager said after the Forest game. "He wanted to take a penalty and show his character and this is all."

Aston Villa have reached agreement with Chicago Fire for the transfer of Colombia international Jhon Duran.

The 19-year-old, who has three caps, scored eight goals for Chicago Fire last season in Major League Soccer [MLS].

A report on the American league's official website said the deal is worth up to €20m, citing sources.

"The deal is subject to the player passing a medical, agreeing personal terms and obtaining the necessary work visa," Villa said in a statement.

The Midlands side are 11th in the Premier League on 25 points after 19 games and visit bottom side Southampton on Saturday. Villa signed Spanish left-back Alex Moreno from Real Betis earlier this month.
