Shamrock Rovers have confirmed a number of new signings from Shelbourne and Peamount United, with Republic of Ireland international Abbie Larkin arriving two days after Shels expressed their disappointment over the midfielder's decision to depart Tolka Park.
Earlier this months Shels announced that the in-demand Larkin had committed to the club for the 2023 campaign.
However she appears to have had a change of heart, with Shels releasing a statement on Wednesday confirming her departure.
"Abbie had initially indicated her intention to remain with the club and, on the 9th of December, Shelbourne FC made an announcement that she would be staying," the statement read.
"Naturally, the club is disappointed at this change of heart but we ultimately respect that it is the player's decision to make."

Speculation that Larkin would be heading to the Hoops has now been proven right, with the Tallaght club also swooping for Shelbourne and Ireland keeper Amanda Budden, Lia O'Leary, and Peamount pair Aoibhe Fleming and Lauren Kelly.
"It has been a difficult decision for me, however, the opportunity to sign for a club with a professional environment, a top coach and excellent facilities was an opportunity I had to take for my own development," said Larkin.
"I am extremely excited about the new challenge, but I would also like to thank the people at Shelbourne FC who have helped with my development to date."
O’Leary is an exciting Republic of Ireland U-17s International who has been part of Vera Pauw's home-based squads.
Fleming and Kelly are the Hoops' latest recruits from the Peas, following Aine O'Gorman, Stephanie Roche, Summer Lawless and Alannah McEvoy. Athlone Town's commanding centre-half Jess Hennessy has also been added to a very strong squad as Rovers get ready for their first season in the division in a decade.
