Ian Ryan has been named the new manager of Bray Wanderers, two weeks after he departed Wexford FC.
Ryan left Wexford after 18 months in charge having overseen real improvement in the 2022 season. They'd been bottom of the First Division in 2021 but reached sixth this year, just one place outside the play-offs.
Ryan was heavily linked with the then vacant Bohemians job this autumn. He has now taken on the Bray role, with the Seagulls releasing a statement on Tuesday evening confirming his arrival. Pat Devlin, who led the side this season, will stay on as head of football.
"Bray Wanderers are pleased to welcome Ian Ryan as head coach of the first team, signing a two-year deal," the club statement read.
"Ian will have responsibility for the first team and liaise with all existing football structures within the club. Ian is fully aligned with the club's ambition to build a sustainable and successful club based on a thriving academy and a modern stadium.
"During this building process we recognise first team success as an important contributing factor to our longer-term plans and will provide Ian with all necessary support to deliver success in 2023 and beyond."
