Republic of Ireland striker Michael Obafemi was sprung from the bench to fire home a late winner for Swansea City away to West Brom at the Hawthorns.

On 6 minutes, Baggies keeper David Button completely flapped at Ryan Manning's early corner, allowing Matt Sorinola to score.

Goals early in the second half from Jake Livermore and Grady Diangana turned the game on its head before Oliver Ntcham levelled it for the visitors on the 71st minute.

West Brom squandered the chance to regain the lead when substitute Grant missed an 81st-minute penalty after he had been shoved by fellow sub Armstrong Okoflex.

Instead it was Swansea who won it when Obafemi turned smartly past his man on to Ntcham's pass to sidefoot past Button.

Angry West Brom supporters turned on manager Steve Bruce afterwards, with Obafemi's winner prompting chants of 'You're getting sacked in the morning.'

Callum Robinson headed a last-minute equaliser to secure Cardiff a 1-1 draw against Burnley in Mark Hudson's first game as manager.

Nathan Tella struck three minutes into the second half to reward the increasing superiority of Vincent Kompany's Clarets.

But Cardiff refused to surrender and Robinson rose at the far post on his home debut to meet Mahlon Romeo's cross and find the corner of the net.

Will Keane's first half goal set Wigan on their way against Rotherham, the Republic of Ireland striker firing home from close range in a 2-0 win. Tom Naylor's second half effort made sure for the hosts.

Reading secured their fifth win in six home Sky Bet Championship matches with a 3-1 victory over struggling Huddersfield.

Defender Tom McIntyre nodded dominant Reading in front in the 29th minute and they extended their lead nine minutes before the break through a freak own goal from Town keeper Lee Nicholls.

Huddersfield, with new head coach Mark Fotheringham in charge for the first time, improved slightly after the interval but were undone again when substitute Yakou Meite tapped home in the 81st minute.

Tom Lees nodded in a Sorba Thomas corner deep into stoppage time to make it 3-1 but Town were soundly beaten.

Sunderland and Preston played out a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light, Alan Browne, Greg Cunningham and Robbie Brady all playing the full 90 for the visitors.

Troy Deeney struck an equaliser for Birmingham as Championship leaders Sheffield United were frustrated in a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.

Oliver McBurnie had fired the Blades ahead in their pursuit of a fifth successive victory but Deeney's close-range effort extended Birmingham's unbeaten run to four games.

Second placed Norwich City reduced the gap at the top to a point, Teemu Pukki scoring again as the Canaries edged out Blackpool.

Blackburn scored two quickfire second-half goals to return to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Millwall, goals from Tyrhys Dolan and Ben Brereton Diaz lifting the home side into the top-six.

Viktor Gyokeres' first-half strike secured Coventry's first win of the season as they beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at the CBS Arena.

The 24-year-old, reportedly the subject of a bid from Chris Wilder's men in the summer, scored his third Sky Bet Championship goal of the campaign to seal the Sky Blues' first victory since mid-April.

Mark Robins' men remain bottom of the table but have dragged Middlesbrough into the bottom three with them.

Stefan Johansen and Tyler Roberts scored for QPR in their 2-1 win away to Bristol City, Nahki Wells reducing the deficit on the hour mark for the home side.
