Shamrock Rovers wing-back Andy Lyons has been named SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers' Ireland Player of the Month for August.
Lyons scored winning goals against Ferencvaros in the Europa League and Drogheda in the FAI Cup across a month that saw Rovers seal group-stage football in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Lyons' Shamrock Rovers team-mates Rory Gaffney and Alan Mannus finished second and third in the voting respectively.
"There' have been a lot of games this month so to come out with the award is brilliant", said Lyons, who will join Championship side Blackpool in February.
"It's a great individual recognition, and it's testament to the team's performances. It was a great month for us collectively, but to get recognised is brilliant."
