Timo Werner has completed his £25million move back to RB Leipzig from Chelsea.

The Germany forward thanked Chelsea's fans for voicing their support despite the battles for top form that he faced in west London.

Werner has been in Germany in the last few days to put the finishing touches to his move back to Leipzig, the club he left for Chelsea in 2020.

Chelsea paid £54million for Werner in 2020, with the 26-year-old playing a pivotal role in the Blues’ Champions League triumph in Lisbon in 2021.

"Today marks the end of my journey with Chelsea FC," Werner posted on social media.

"I am incredibly grateful for the time I spent at this special club.

"At this point I would like to express my appreciation for my teammates, the coaches and staff, and especially for you, the special supporters of Chelsea Football Club.

"I felt so much love and support throughout the last two years and I will never forget how you guys stood behind me in good and in challenging times!"

Werner always found favour with Chelsea fans for his tireless effort and determination to thrive with the Blues.

But the pacy forward was never able to transfer his scoring feats from German football into the Premier League.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel and his staff are understood to have never quite been able to determine Werner's best role in the German boss' tactical blueprint.

Werner himself is also thought to have been left frustrated by that disconnect, and those difficulties are understood to have sparked his move back to Germany.

The transfer fee for Werner represents a clear loss for Chelsea, but the Blues will expect that figure to rise given agreed add-ons to the deal.

Werner was understood to rank among Chelsea's highest wage earners too, and his departure will free up funds to be redistributed elsewhere.

New owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have once again shown their desire to ensure players do not remain at Chelsea while unhappy or failing to fulfil their potential.

The decision to cut losses on Romelu Lukaku and allow him to return to Inter Milan on loan, coupled with a similar call on Werner, again indicates the new Blues owners' determination to move the squad forward quickly.

Chelsea have already conducted brisk transfer business to bring in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka and Marc Cucurella.

But the Blues still need further reinforcements and continue to push hard to pull off yet more deals.

Talks are thought to be continuing on a possible move for Leicester's Wesley Fofana, with Barcelona's Frenkie De Jong another potential arrival.

Werner's departure further opens the door for an arrival up front, with Chelsea continuing to weigh up a move for Barcelona's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Blues boss Tuchel coached the former Arsenal striker at Borussia Dortmund and is thought to be open to a reunion at Stamford Bridge.

Amadou Onana made his international debut for Belgium in June

Everton have signed Belgium international Amadou Onana for an undisclosed fee from Lille.

The 20-year-old midfielder has agreed a five-year contract at Goodison Park and becomes the Toffees' fifth summer signing after James Tarkowski, Ruben Vinagre, Conor Coady and Dwight McNeil.

Speaking to evertontv, Onana said: "It feels great to join Everton. I know it’s a big, big club, one of the biggest in England.

"It’s something I want to be part of for many years."

Onana highlighted manager Frank Lampard as a key reason behind the move, saying: "He played at the highest level, won many things and was a midfielder, too.

"It means a lot to have interest from him and I think he can teach me many things."

Born in Senegal, Onana played his youth football in Belgium before moving to Germany in 2018 and playing for Hoffenheim and Hamburg prior to his switch to Lille last summer.

Lampard said: "Amadou is a player we were really keen to bring to Everton. He has many great qualities to help strengthen our midfield and, at just 20 years old, has massive potential to get even better."

The 19-year-old spent the final four months of last season on loan with Brentford, where he played for the B team.

Sotona is a former youth sprinter and was registered as the fastest player at Old Trafford during his spell in Manchester.

After signing a season-long loan, he told Kilmarnock's website: "It feels great to be here, I can’t wait to get started, I’d been waiting a while to get out on this loan and this should be a very good move.

"I want to showcase my talent and get game time here. I spoke to the manager (Derek McInnes) and he’s given me the opportunity to come here and play first-team football and I believe Kilmarnock will be a good club to play for.

The club say the 31-year-old will play in their last two home games of the season.

Mandurah play in the Football West State League Division 1, which is among a group of 11 regional divisions in the third tier of football in Australia.

The club, based about an hour from Perth, are managed by former Raith Rovers, Partick Thistle and St Mirren forward John Baird.

Griffiths was recently training with Livingston to keep fit after leaving Falkirk at the end of last season.

The Scotland international signed a new contract with Celtic on 1 July last year but never featured under Ange Postecoglou and had an underwhelming loan spell with Dundee before joining Falkirk in January, hitting a total of five goals throughout the campaign.

Griffiths scored 123 goals in 261 appearances for Celtic but off-field issues, which led to him spending six months out of the game in 2018-19, affected the latter stages of his Parkhead career.

The former Livingston, Wolves and Hibernian forward won the last of his 22 Scotland caps in November 2020 and was left out of the squad for the European Championship finals the following summer.
