Everton have agreed a season-long loan deal that will bring Wolves captain Conor Coady to Goodison Park.

A move for the former Liverpool academy graduate was accelerated after Ben Godfrey broke his leg against Chelsea at the weekend and fellow centre-back Yerry Mina limped off injured.

Coady was at the club's training Finch Farm training complex on Monday afternoon to finalise an initial loan deal, and it was announced on Monday night.

"We are delighted to bring a player of Conor's quality and vast experience to Everton and he fits into how we want to play as a team," manager Frank Lampard has said.

"As well as being one of the Premier League's most reliable defenders and an England international, his leadership skills will be of huge benefit to us, too."

Everton are also on the verge of confirming the £33million signing of Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.

The 20-year-old Belgium international was at Goodison Park on Saturday to watch the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea after undergoing a medical earlier in the day.

Plans are also well advanced to bring former midfielder Idrissa Gueye back to the club from Paris St Germain, the 32-year-old having left in 2019 after three seasons.

Manager Frank Lampard has so far signed Burnley duo James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil plus Sporting Lisbon left-back Ruben Vinagre on loan but the quest for reinforcements up front continue with striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin out for potentially six weeks with a knee problem.

Inter Milan have ended the contract of Chile forward Alexis Sanchez by mutual agreement, the Serie A club said on Monday.

Italian media reports said Sanchez is set to join French side Olympique de Marseille on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old made 109 appearances and scored 20 goals in all competitions after joining Inter from Manchester United in 2019 but rarely appeared in the starting lineup last season.

"The club would like to wholeheartedly thank Alexis for these last three seasons, in which the Nerazzurri won three major honours, and we wish him all the best for his future career," Inter said in a statement.

Former Barcelona and Arsenal forward Sanchez, who has 146 caps and 48 goals for Chile, won the 2020-2021 Scudetto, Inter's first league title in 11 years, and last season helped the club win the Italian Cup and Super Cup.

Midfielder Lucas Torreira has left Arsenal to join Turkish club Galatasaray on a permanent deal.

Uruguay international Torreira spent the last two seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina respectively.

The 26-year-old made 89 appearances for the Gunners after moving from Sampdoria in July 2018 at the start of Unai Emery's reign.

He was an unused substitute when the north London club defeated Chelsea in the 2020 FA Cup final, while he won LaLiga during his temporary switch to Atletico.

"Everyone at Arsenal thanks Lucas for his contribution during his time with us," read a statement on Arsenal's website.

"We wish Lucas and his family the best of health and happiness in their new chapter with Galatasaray."

Portugal winger Goncalo Guedes has joined Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a five-year deal from Valencia, both clubs said on Monday.

Wolves did not disclose any financial details but British media said the fee was £27.5 million.

"We have been monitoring Goncalo for a long time and are very pleased to welcome him to Wolves," club chairman Jeff Shi said of the 25-year-old forward.

"He has natural talent and has performed very well across Europe and for his country, and we think he is well suited to the Premier League."
