Niamh Farrelly has signed for Italian top-flight side Parma ahead of the start of the Serie A 2022-23 season.

The Ireland midfielder played her football in Glasgow last season and has now made the switch to the Italian side, who moved into Serie A after taking Empoli's place in the top division.

A current member of Vera Pauw's Ireland squad, Farrelly spent the last two seasons playing for Glasgow City and was five years at Peamount before moving to Scotland.

Parma coach Fabio Ulderici has now completed his 27-woman squad with the signing of Farrelly as well as Finland's Nora Heroum and Portugal's Joana Marchão.

The Serie A season begins later this month with Parma's first game taking place on the weekend of 27-28 August away to Inter Milan.
