Tottenham have completed the signing of defender Djed Spence from Middlesbrough on a contract until 2027.

Right-back Spence becomes the sixth player to join Spurs this summer to continue the club's spending spree.

The deal is worth an initial £12.5million but could rise to £20million due to add-ons, the PA news agency understands.

Since Antonio Conte's side secured Champions League football on the final day of the 2021-22 campaign, Tottenham have changed tack in the transfer window and moved fast to put together a squad capable of challenging on multiple fronts for the upcoming season.

The addition of Spence follows earlier moves for Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet.

London-born Spence has long been on Spurs' radar and attracted plenty of interest after a successful loan spell with Nottingham Forest, where he helped the club achieve promotion to the Premier League and played a key role in their run to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The 21-year-old came through Fulham's academy before he moved to Middlesbrough in 2018 but saw his time on Teesside disrupted by the club's lack of managerial stability.

Celtic have announced the signings of Australia midfielder Aaron Mooy and German defender Moritz Jenz.

Mooy, 31, joins after leaving Chinese side Shanghai Port earlier this year.

Jenz, 23, arrives from French club Lorient.

Wolves striker Fabio Silva has signed a new one-year contract at Molineux and joined Belgian club Anderlecht on a season-long loan.

Silva, 20, joined Wolves for a club-record fee in September 2020, with his former club Porto saying the transfer was worth £37million.

But the Portugal youth international has struggled to become a first-team regular, making only 17 Premier League starts in two seasons and scoring four goals.

Wolves technical director Scott Sellars told the club website: "We've had lots of discussions between myself and (manager) Bruno (Lage) and with Fabio as well, about what we feel is best for his development, and we felt that a season playing regularly would be very good for him at this point in his career.

"He's only just turned 20 today, so he's still a very young boy and he needs a season of playing regular senior football in a competitive league so he can come back to Wolves stronger.

Jordan Jones

Derek McInnes expects Jordan Jones to bring "speed and creativity" to Kilmarnock after the Northern Ireland international returned to Rugby Park on a season-long loan from Wigan.

The 27-year-old winger made more than 100 appearances during an impressive three-year stint with the Ayrshire club between 2016 and 2019 before leaving to join Rangers.

Jones departed Ibrox last summer to join Wigan on a three-year deal but his move south has not worked out and, after a spell on loan at St Mirren in the second half of last term, he has been allowed to return north to Kilmarnock for the upcoming campaign.

"Jordan is obviously familiar to the club," manager McInnes told Sky Sports. "We've been working hard on that one over the last couple of weeks. We feel he's the type of player we're going to need.

"He brings a bit more speed and creativity and we need that added goal threat in the final third."

Middlesbrough have signed USA goalkeeper Zack Steffen on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Steffen, 27, who signed a new long-term deal with City in November, will join up with the Sky Bet Championship club for their pre-season friendly at Morecambe on Tuesday evening.
