Shamrock Rovers have learned their potential Champions League third round opponent with the winner of the tie between Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia and Shkupi of North Macedonia paired with the Dublin side or Bulgaria's Ludogorets.

The Hoops begin their second round tie away from home tomorrow and will be underdogs against a side with plenty of European experience in recent years.

Stephen Bradley's side progressed to this stage with a 3-0 aggregate win over Hibernians in the first round.

Dinamo Zagreb just missed out on Champions League group stage football last year. They qualified for the Europa League, their run to the knockout rounds including a win over West Ham United.

Spanish side Sevilla narrowly beat them in the second round.

Shkupi are in the second round after seeing off Lincoln Red Imps 3-2 over two legs, despite a 2-0 defeat in Gibraltar.

The loser of both ties will meet in a tie in the third round of Europa League qualifying.

In theory, it means the Hoops could face Shkupi if they both lose in their ties and know a win would guarantee European group stage football.

A win would also set up a play-off for a spot in the Europa League.

Champions League third round draw:

Winner of Ludogorets v Shamrock Rovers v Winner of Dinamo Zagreb / Shkupi

Europa League third round draw:

Loser of Ludogorets v Shamrock Rovers v Loser of Dinamo Zagreb / Shkupi
