Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe scored for the third match running to get Bohemians back on track following last week's humbling to arch-rivals Shamrock Rovers.

Dawson Devoy and Promise Omochere added further goals to give the Gypsies only their second home win of the campaign - though it's now just now defeat in six for Keith Long’s side.

UCD remain winless and rooted to the foot of the table.

It was 13 minutes before the scrappy start to the game delivered its first opening, and one Bohemians should have taken the lead from.

Slick interplay from Dawson Devoy and skipper Conor Levingston threaded Junior through on goal. Lorcan Healy was out promptly to get his body in the way of the striker’s shot from a tight angle.

Following a lull in play, Liam Burt raised a cheer of expectation on 26 minutes, volleying wide after Junior had chested Jordan Doherty’s long ball into his path.

James Talbot in the Gypsies’ goal was then worked for the first time minutes later, getting down well to hold Dylan Duffy’s downward header from Donal Higgins’ floated cross.

Back at the other end, Junior got another sight of goal but shot wide after a promising run and cross from right-back Sam Packham.

The Londoner would make amends a minute before the interval, though, to give Bohemians their deserved lead.

Burt orchestrated the chance, skipping past a defender to get off a low drive. Healy couldn’t hold the shot which spilled out invitingly for the in-rushing Junior who scooped the loose ball to the net.

Burt’s influence was maintained into the second half, a meandering solo run ending with his crisp drive arrowing just wide of Healy’s right-hand post eight minutes in.

Despite dominating from the restart, Bohemians had Talbot to thank for keeping them in front as they coughed up a real chance of an equaliser on 62 minutes.

Sean Brennan put Dylan Duffy in on goal down the inside right channel with Talbot making a fine parry save with Higgins rifling the rebound over the top.

It proved pivotal as Bohemians doubled their lead three minutes later from a controversially awarded penalty.

College skipper Sam Todd appeared to have made a good tackle on Junior only for referee Ray Matthews to point to the spot.

Once UCD’s protests subsided, Devoy drilled the spot kick low to Healy's bottom right corner.

Their tails up, Bohemians put the game to bed on 69 minutes.

Devoy threaded a ball though for Omochere who took a touch into his feet before blasting his shot to the net to finish with aplomb.
