Sligo Rovers have been awarded a 3-0 victory over Peamount United after the latter fielded an ineligible player in their SSE Airtricity Women's National League game on 5 March.

Following a meeting with the FAI's Disciplinary Control Unit, it was deemed that Peamount fielded a player who had not been correctly registered.

The Dublin side did notch up a 6-0 victory on the opening weekend of the season.

As a result, Sligo Rovers, who are in their first ever season in the Women's National League, will be awarded the win. While the club did lodge an appeal to the result of last month's encounter, it did add that the FAI's decision not result from "any sort of appeal from Sligo Rovers FC and the club had no knowledge of the issue until today".
