Republic of Ireland duo Jeff Hendrick and Jamie McGrath secured late moves to QPR and Wigan Athletic respectively, both players leaving during the last moments of the January transfer window.
QPR confirmed that Hendrick had arrived from Newcastle United on loan, with the Dubliner stating, "it's been a bit of a crazy birthday, just waiting for this to happen, but I am really excited".
"I have been following the team throughout this season and you are in a good position in the league. Hopefully I can come in and help give that last push to get promoted."
McGrath had been rumoured to leave St Mirren throughout the month of January, however, it looked like time had run out as the 11pm deadline approached on Monday night.
But the move to England's League One from the Scottish top tier was completed in time with new club Wigan confirming the news just minutes after the window shut.
The former Dundalk man has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Greater Manchester club for an undisclosed fee.
McGrath will link up with fellow Ireland internationals James McClean and Will Keane, and former Under-21 international Glen Rea at the DW Stadium.
Earlier, St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin hinted that a move would materialise, saying "this afternoon there are conversations ongoing between our club and a couple of other clubs but as with anything there is a cost involved and it is up to the buyers to meet the valuation that we put on the player".
Rea is another new arrival at Wigan having arrived on loan from Championship side Luton Town until the end of the season.
"I'm really excited for the challenge and can’t wait to get going," said Rea.
"I will give everything for the shirt and if I am given an opportunity to play, I will do my very best whether that is tackling people, heading the ball or doing whatever it takes to win. I love winning and hopefully that can show in the performances when I do play."
Elsewhere, Ireland underage international Deji Sotona has joined Premier League side Brentford on loan from OGC Nice where the speedy winger is set to initially link up with Neil MacFarlane's Brentford B side.
"We will push him relentlessly, as we do with all of our players, and hopefully he can have a really fruitful time here," said MacFarlane.
"He eliminates players with his speed, he likes to get at defenders, and hopefully he can add goals and assists at the top end of the pitch. We hope that Deji can buy into the culture within our group and if he can do that then we believe he can bring something to this club."
