Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to join Barcelona on a free transfer as the January transfer window closed.
The 32-year-old former Gunners captain arrived in Spain on Monday morning, sparking rumours of a loan move to the La Liga side although confusion reigned as no agreement had been reached.
The Gabon international returned home early from the Africa Cup of Nations due to health reasons but has not played for the Gunners since being disciplined by the club in December.
He had been linked with a loan move this January, with Barcelona among those clubs reportedly showing an interest.
The first signing of the Frank Lampard era at Everton was announced when Donny van de Beek completed his loan switch from Manchester United.
The midfielder has struggled for game-time at Old Trafford since joining the club from Ajax in August 2020.
"Now I can say I am an Everton player, I am really happy and can't wait to help the team," the Netherlands international told evertontv after his loan move until the end of the season was confirmed.

"I think it is a great club. There are really good players here and I came because I want to help them go up the table.
"I had a really positive meeting with the new coach. We have the same ideas about football and he had a lot of influence on my decision.
"I can learn a lot from him because he was a little bit in the same position - a midfield player who scored a lot of goals. He can help me a lot, so I think I'm in a good spot."
It is also believed the Toffees have agreed a fee with Tottenham for England midfielder Dele Alli and Everton will not have to pay an initial fee for the 25-year-old, with a substantial fee payable should certain conditions be met.
Liverpool defender Nat Phillips has completed a loan move to Bournemouth.
The club had hoped to sell the centre-back permanently but it is understood they have taken an arrangement fee of £1.5m, plus an additional £250,000 if the Cherries get promoted from the Championship, because of the offer of regular game time.
Having had an earlier £7m bid turned down, Newcastle made a request for a loan with commitment to buy if they stayed up, while Leicester also wanted Phillips on short deal, but with playing time limited at both they were not seen as attractive propositions by the club.

Celtic defender Usaze Urhoghide has joined Oostende on loan for the rest of the season with the Belgian side holding a purchase option for the 21-year-old defender.
The former Sheffield Wednesday player told Oostende's website: "This club has a philosophy to give young players opportunities and make them better and that sounds like music to my ears."
Manchester City have completed the signing of exciting River Plate prospect Julian Alvarez for just over £14million.
After widespread speculation about a move to the north west, the highly-rated forward celebrated his 22nd birthday by signing a five-and-a-half year deal at the Etihad Stadium.
Alvarez has scored 36 goals in 96 appearances for River Plate, as well as providing 25 assists.
City have confirmed the forward "will remain with River on loan at least until July 2022", with the Buenos Aires giants hoping their Copa Libertadores campaign extends all the way to October's final.
Alvarez has already won six senior caps for Argentina and City director of football Txiki Begiristain is excited by the new signing's potential.
"Julian is a player we have monitored for some time," he said.
"He is capable of operating in a number of attacking roles, and we firmly believe he's one of the best young attacking players in South America.
"I am so happy we have managed to bring him to Manchester City. I really believe we can provide him with the right conditions to fulfil his potential and become a top player."
Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has completed a loan move to Lyon for the remainder of the season while Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have joined the club from Juventus, both subject to international clearance and a work permit.
Lyon confirmed they have paid a fee of 1.42million euros to finalise the deal with Ndombele, which includes an option to make the move permanent.
Ndombele is Tottenham's club-record signing but has struggled to make a lasting impact in north London.
Uruguay international Bentancur has signed a deal until 2026.
Attacking midfielder Kulusevski joins on an 18-month loan with an option to buy from the Serie A side.
Those moves for Spurs were followed by temporary exits to La Liga. Bryan Gil completed a loan move to Valencia.
The Spain international only joined Tottenham from Sevilla in the summer but returns to the Spanish top flight after agreeing a switch to the Mestalla until the end of the campaign.
Giovani Lo Celso was the next player out of the door at Tottenham, joining Villarreal on loan until the summer.
Newcastle made their fourth and fifth signings of the window as full-back Matt Targett arrived on loan from Aston Villa for the remainder of the season and defender Dan Burn joined for an undisclosed fee and signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Magpies.
Eddie Howe has already recruited Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood and Bruno Guimaraes.
Bottom club Burnley have completed the signing of Netherlands international Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg for a reported £12million fee.
The 6ft 6in striker has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract and is set to train with his new team-mates on Monday.
"Wout is a player that our scouts have been strong on for some time and we feel that he can add to all that we do at Burnley Football Club," manager Sean Dyche said.
"His signing is a continued show of the club's and team's development. We wish Wout well as he earns the right to push our group forwards."
Weghorst, capped 12 times by the Dutch national team, has scored 59 goals in 118 Bundesliga appearances.
Crystal Palace have signed their on-loan forward Jean-Philippe Mateta on a permanent basis.
The 24-year-old Frenchman, who initially joined on loan from Mainz last January, has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.
