Finn Harps have completed the signing of striker Bastien Héry from Bohemians.

The French-born midfielder joins the Donegal club, having spent the second half of the 2021 season on loan at nearby Derry City.

Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan said the signing would give the club a lift, touting his new player's experience in the league.

The 29-year-old has played for five different clubs on the island since joining Limerick FC in 2017. Héry was included in the Premier Division Team of the Season for his performances with Waterford FC in 2018.

He subsequently travelled north of the border, winning the 2019-20 NIFL Premiership title with Linfield, subsequently getting on the scoresheet in the club's Champions League campaign in August 2020.

He signed for Bohemians in January 2021 but struggled to make an impression at Dalymount Park, making just five league appearances before going on loan to Derry in July.

Héry was included in the Premier Division Team of the Year in 2018

He played nine times for the Candystripes, as they rose to fourth in the league and secured qualification for the Europa Conference League.

He told "I am excited to be at Harps. When I spoke to Ollie and he explained his plan for the team I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. Everyone knows Finn Park is a tough place to go so I'm looking forward to playing there as a Finn Harps player this season."

Ollie Horgan told club media: "Bastien is a talented lad who will give us a lift, especially going forward. He knows the league well, and knows what it takes to get results in what will be a very tough Premier Division."

Though born in Paris, Héry plays his international football for Madagascar, earning six caps thus far.
