All five matches have something, at least on paper, riding on them tonight.

Read our permutations article on what has turned into a battle for fourth spot as well as avoiding the relegation play-off.

The RTÉ cameras will be in Tallaght Stadium and will bring you goals from around the grounds after full-time.

Dundalk v Derry City, Oriel Park, 7.45pm

Dundalk will welcome new locally based ownership when they host Derry City

Michael Duffy will wave goodbye to Dundalk supporters this evening as he plays his last match for the club before departing to join the opposition.

The Candystripes need to better Bohemians' result tonight to snatch a European place. Their task is made somewhat easier by Dundalk being weakened by suspensions.

Oriel Park will welcome a big crowd on the back of a feel-good factor following the exit of PEAK6.

They will be unable to make it to fourth place but, after a traumatic season, could still sign off in style.

Team news

Dundalk: Will Patching and Greg Sloggett will miss out due to bans.

Derry City: Eoin Toal is suspended, Marc Walsh is out through injury and Junior is unavailable against his parent club. Bastien Hery is back from International duty and Cameron McJannet returns from injury.

What they said

Ruaidhri Higgins (Derry City manager): "Fourth place is out of our hands but all we can do is try to win the game at Dundalk and see where that takes us.

"It's been honours even between us in the three matches so far this season - one win each and a draw- so there’s been little separating the teams. There's likely to be a great atmosphere and we’re expecting a fair amount of travelling support, so hopefully it will be a very decent game."

Finn Harps v Longford Town, Finn Park, 7.45pm

It could be a tense night in Ballybofey

It's advantage Finn Harps following a 2-2 draw against St Patrick's Athletic last week. Harps know three points tonight will secure their place in next year's top flight.

They haven't found winning easy recently, achieving it just once in the last 12 matches in all competitions.

Every season is a battle for Ollie Horgan's men and it's remarkable they have accumulated 41 points and are still fighting on the final day.

There will be lots of nerves in Donegal but the opposition have failed to win away from home all season.

Town are set for a return to the First Division and at least regained some pride last week with a home draw against Waterford.

It would be a major surprise if they followed it up this evening.

Team news

Finn Harps: Sean Boyd, Ryan Rainey and Kosovar Sadiki are suspended. Mark McGinley, Mark Timlin, Will Seymore and David Webster are doubts.

Longford Town: Dylan Grimes is out with a hamstring injury. Mick Kelly misses out due to illness. Aaron O’Driscoll is doubtful with a knock and Karl Chambers is out through suspension (5 yellows).

What they said

Ollie Horgan (Finn Harps manager): "I wasn't surprised at all that Longford took points off Waterford last weekend, the same way I’ve no doubt they’ll be coming up here expecting to do the same. Longford have been fiercely competitive this season despite their league position, and even though they have been relegated they are fighting tooth and nail in every game. We’ve only beaten them once in the three games this year and I’ve no doubt we’ll be in for an almighty battle."

Shamrock Rovers v Drogheda United, Tallaght Stadium, 7.45pm

Shamrock Rovers will repeat these scenes later

There will be lots of celebrating in Tallaght as Shamrock Rovers prepare to lift the SSE Airtricity Premier Division trophy.

Up to 7,000 supporters are expected to witness the moment and there is no doubt Stephen Bradley will want his side to put on a show to mark the occasion.

United will also be happy come full-time. Goal difference means they can't be dragged into the relegation mire.

That represents a wonderful achievement for the promoted side.

Team news

Shamrock Rovers: Gary O'Neill is suspended. Bradley is set to rest several players carrying knocks.

Drogheda United: Jake Hyland serves an additional suspension from a red card.

What they said

Stephen Bradley (Shamrock Rovers manager): "We're really looking forward to parading the trophy around the stadium in front of our fans. It's nights like that and Finn Harps that you never forget. That's why you do everything, so that you can share those moments with your family and friends and obviously all the fans. So, it's going to be a special night for everyone to be able to do that and celebrate together."

Sligo Rovers v Bohemians, The Showgrounds, 7.45pm

Bohs can guarantee fourth place with a win

Bohemians have had many highs this season - with three victories at the Aviva Stadium in Europe and progressing to the FAI Cup final - and their season will be decided by the closing two matches.

Firstly, they can ensure European football will be back next year with a win over Sligo Rovers. After a real slump, while being without several key players, successive wins have put them in pole position to secure the Europa Conference berth.

Sligo Rovers will finish in third place as their season comes to an end. Their mid-season wobble was not big enough to see them drop out of the European spots and they'll be eager to finish the year with a win after a disappointing loss in Derry last week.

Team news

Sligo Rovers: Edward McGinty is back after missing last week's game due to illness, while Greg Bolger returns from injury. Robbie McCourt was forced off with injury last week but is also fit to play. Regan Donelon (illness) and Danny Kane (foot) miss out. Johnny Kenny returns from international duty.

Bohemians: Ali Coote serves a one-match ban but Rory Feely returns. James Talbot returned from injury last week with Stephen Mallan also available. Top scorer Georgie Kelly has been out with a calf problem in recent weeks as he races to be fit the FAI Cup final.

What they said

Liam Buckley (Sligo Rovers manager): "We were a bit disappointed with our performance last week. I thought we improved in the second half but we still needed to be more clinical in our play. We needed to be more ruthless in general and it's something we’ll seek to improve in on Friday.

"The pressure is off when it comes to sealing the European place but the pressure isn’t off when it comes to winning games. We owe it to ourselves to finish off this season as best we can."

Waterford v St Patrick's Athletic, RSC, 7.45pm

Waterford must better Finn Harps' result

Not only do Waterford need to rely on a favour from Longford Town against Finn Harps tonight, they also have to get the better of St Patrick's Athletic when without several key players because of suspension.

The Blues had looked like escaping the play-off until two recent setbacks but with a severely weakened squad, it's going to take a monumental effort to do now .

St Pat's are preparing for the FAI Cup final and that has shown in some results since reaching the Aviva Stadium showpiece.

They'll be eager to go into the final with a winning feeling.

Team news

Waterford FC: Prince Mutswunguma, Isaac Tshipamba and Callum Stringer are injured while Kyle Ferguson is a doubt. Greg Halford, Darragh Power, Jack Stafford and John Martin are all suspended. Cameron Evans returns from suspension.

St Patrick's Athletic: Ian Bermingham and Paddy Barrett will miss the game through suspension while John Mountney (knee) is also unavailable.

What they said

Marc Bircham (Waterford manager): "We needed to win last weekend and we didn't get the job done. We've been leading in the last three games so we're disappointed. We had the chances and you have to take them when you are where we are in the table.

"It's out of our hands now so all we can do is prepare as best we can for Friday night and look for points. We know we need other results but we'll focus on being ready for St Pat's and give it a good go."

Stephen O'Donnell (St Patrick's Athletic manager): "It's been a really enjoyable season obviously with a really big game to look forward to still in the cup, but we are not looking too far ahead.

"We want to be going into the final with a decent rhythm and a chance for lads to stake a claim for the following week. Waterford have a lot to play for. It's going down to the wire which I think everyone could see from a fair distance out that the second last spot was going to go down to the wire."
