Shelbourne miss out as Player of the Year nominees revealed

Savannah McCarthy, Karen Duggan and Kylie Murphy have been nominated for SSE Airtricity Women's National League as champions Shelbourne miss out on having any players represented.

McCarthy (Galway WFC), Duggan (Peamount United) and Murphy (Wexford) make up the trio in contention for the top honour.

Shels have Jessie Stapleton up for Young Player of the Year along with Wexford pair Aoibheann Clancy and Ellen Molloy.

Noel King's side won the league after a dramatic final day and they could do a double if they overcome Wexford at this Sunday's FAI Cup final in Tallaght Stadium .

King is selected for manager of the year along with Graham Kelly of DLR Waves and James O’Callaghan of Peamount.

The awards will place on Wednesday, 1 December.

There will also be a Team of the Year chosen as well as awards handed out for Golden Boot, Golden Gloves and the EA SPORTS Women's Under-19 & Under-17 Player of the Year.

Nominees for the main awards:

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Savannah McCarthy (Galway WFC), Karen Duggan (Peamount United) and Kylie Murphy (Wexford Youths)

YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jessie Stapleton (Shelbourne), Aoibheann Clancy (Wexford Youths) and Ellen Molloy (Wexford Youths)

MANAGER OF THE YEAR: Graham Kelly (DLR Waves), James O'Callaghan (Peamount United) and Noel King (Shelbourne)
