Cork City finished their First Division season with a 3-0 defeat of Galway United at Turner's Cross on Friday night.
John Caulfield's Galway were already safely into the play-offs and finished second behind Shelbourne despite this result..
Jonas Hakkinen broke the deadlock after 29 minutes when he headed home Dylan McGlade's free-kick. Alec Byrne doubled the hosts' lead just after the hour mark with Cian Coleman wrapping up the win in the 71st minute when he nodded in another McGlade delivery.
Bottom of the table Wexford also signed off with a win as they sank Bray Wanderers 4-2.
Bray, who now head for the play-offs having finished fifth, took the lead in the third minute through Brandon Kavanagh.
Daniel Dobbin equalised on 23 minutes before Kavanagh restored the Seagulls' lead 60 seconds later. But Thomas Considine (48') and Evan Farrell (68') turned it around for Wexford, and after Callum Niall Thompson saw red in the 79th minute, Jack Moylan made sure of the points with a fourth.
Champions Shels - who lifted the trophy tonight - and UCD played out a 1-1 draw at Tolka Park. Evan Caffrey broke the deadlock after 54 minutes for the Students but Yousef Mahdy denied them the win two minutes from the end.
Cobh Ramblers earned a 2-1 victory at Athlone Town. Jason Abbott fired Cobh ahead on 20 minutes, and though James Doona hit back in the 61st minute, Daniel O'Connell won it ten minutes from time.
Treaty United came away from Cabinteely with a 2-0 win thanks to second-half goals from William Armshaw (62') and Josh Quinlivan (90').
In the play-offs Bray face Galway while Treaty take on UCD. The first legs take place on Wednesday.
