Motherwell are to swoop for Bohemians starlet Ross Tierney when the transfer window opens in January, but fellow Irish under-21 Dawson Devoy is set to stay at Bohs for the time being.
RTÉ Sport understands that Tierney, who has developed into a superb attacking player for Keith Long's men, will agree a three-year deal with Motherwell.
Well have had a good start to the Scottish Premiership, sitting in sixth place. Manager Graham Alexander may well have taken notice of the success Jamie McGrath has become at St Mirren.
McGrath left Dundalk to sign for St Mirren in January of last year. He has since grown into one of the club's marquee names and has established himself as a regular in Stephen Kenny's first 11 for Ireland.
Tierney attracted plenty of attention during Bohemians' superb run in the Europa Conference League this season and he has also scored for Ireland's U21 side in a terrific 2021.
The 20-year-old can score and create goals, while his work off the ball is what marks him out as something different, even at League of Ireland level.
Devoy, who turns 20 next month, has long been linked with a move to Britain. He too excelled for Bohs in Europe and played a key role in the 1-1 draw on Monday night against Shamrock Rovers. He is set to commit for another season to the Gypsies, with his contract expiring at the end of this campaign.
