Peamount United's Karen Duggan has won the SSE Airtricity WNL Player of the Month award for September.
The 30-year old former Irish international - who picked up the Player of the Season gong for 2020 - was shifted from her normal position in midfield back to the centre of defence as the reigning champions solidified their grip at the top of the table in September, the most significant result a crushing 5-0 win over rivals Shelbourne three weeks ago.
The Kilkenny native was among the goals herself in Peamount's 3-0 win away to Bohemians last weekend.
Duggan said: "I'm very privileged to win an SSE Airtricity Player of the Month award. I think there was a lot of stiff competition this month.
"It was an interesting month, obviously we had the break in the League and fewer games to look at but the standard has been really, really high."
Duggan was selected ahead of Wexford Youths ace Ellen Molloy and Cork City midfielder Eva Mangan, who finished second & third respectively in the voting.
Currently one point clear of Wexford Youths in the standings - albeit with a game in hand - Peamount are seeking a third successive WNL title and a fourth ever since the league was established in 2011.
