Will Keane is a surprise inclusion in the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier with Azerbaijan and friendly with Qatar.
Keane has received his first international call-up to Ireland having scored four goals in the opening nine matches of the League One season for his club Wigan Athletic.
Shane Long has been left out of the squad despite appearing from the bench for Southampton last weekend against Wolves in the Premier League.
Chiedozie Ogbene, Enda Stevens and Jason Knight all return to the squad after injury, while captain Seamus Coleman has been ruled out as expected.
Dara O'Shea is also omitted after suffering a serious knee injury against Portugal. Ciaran Clark has also been left out.
Cyrus Christie retains his place in the group having been called up for the 1-1 draw against Serbia.
Kenny has kept faith with his trio of young goalkeepers in Gavin Bazunu, Caoimhin Kelleher and Mark Travers so Darren Randolph is again not part of the squad.
Ireland are set to travel to Baku for their qualifier against Azerbaijan on Saturday, 9 October before returning to Dublin to take on Qatar on Tuesday, 12 October at the Aviva Stadium.
Both matches are live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
